Quests

Quests give members goals that use your economy: "buy 3 items this week", "win 5 casino games today", "keep a 7-day daily streak". A member who reaches the goal claims the rewards you set: currency, items, a role, a personal shop discount or an XP boost.

Quests live on the Economy page, Quests tab. Members see them in the economy menu (/economy menu, the Quests button) and with /economy quests.

Creating a quest

Click New quest and fill in:

FieldWhat it does
Name, Description, EmojiWhat members see. The name is up to 64 characters, the description up to 256.
Objective and GoalWhat counts, and how much of it completes the quest. See the objectives.
Item, Category or GameNarrows some objectives: the item used, the item or category bought, the casino game won.
RepeatOnce, Every day or Every week. See resets.
Time limitOptional: the goal must be reached within this time of the member's first progress.
Starts and EndsOptional window. Before it, members see the quest as coming soon; after it, it is gone.
Rewards1 to 5 rewards. See rewards.
EnabledA disabled quest counts nothing and is hidden from members.

The quests show in the order of the list; use the arrows on each quest to move it.

The objectives

Every objective is counted from what the economy already records, at the moment it happens. Something that writes nothing to a member's balance counts nothing: a payout refused because the wallet is full, a daily cap reached, the economy turned off.

ObjectiveWhat counts
Pay membersThe amount members receive through /economy pay, after the transfer tax.
Win casino gamesCasino games that pay back more than the bet. A push (your bet back) is not a win. Optionally one game only.
Use an itemSuccessful uses of one item.
WorkSuccessful /economy work, from the command or the economy menu.
Daily streakThe member's daily streak reaching the goal. A broken streak starts again from 1.
Buy from the shopItems bought in the shop: any item, one item, or one category. A refund takes the purchase back, unless the reward was already claimed.
Rob successfullySuccessful robberies.
Send messagesMessages that earn money: the earning rule's cooldown and daily cap apply.
Spend time in voiceMinutes in voice that earn money: the earning rule's daily cap applies.

Send messages and Spend time in voice only count when the server has the matching earning rule (see Earning). A member who opted out of statistics with /privacy earns nothing from messages or voice, so these quests do not move for them.

An item that is not used up when used can be used again and again: an Use an item quest on it is easy to complete. The editor warns you.

Time limits and resets

  • Once: a member completes the quest one time, ever.
  • Every day: the quest starts again every day at 00:00 UTC.
  • Every week: the quest starts again every Monday at 00:00 UTC.

A time limit starts at the member's first progress. When it runs out, their next action starts a new attempt from zero. A daily quest's time limit is at most 24 hours, a weekly quest's at most 7 days. A Daily streak quest has no time limit and cannot repeat every day.

Editing what a quest counts (its objective, goal, item, category or game, time limit or repeat) restarts the progress members have not completed. The dashboard asks before saving. Rewards already earned are kept.

Rewards

A quest gives 1 to 5 rewards: at most one of each kind, and up to 3 different items.

RewardWhat the member gets
CurrencyAn amount of the server currency.
ItemCopies of a shop item, in their inventory.
RoleA role, for good or for a duration. A member who already has the role keeps it as it is: a timed reward never takes back a role they had.
Shop discountA personal discount on the whole shop, one item or one category, for a duration. It does not stack with other sales: the best single discount applies.
XP boostAn XP multiplier (1.25 to 3) for a duration.

FlaviBot's role must stay above a role it gives, or members cannot claim it. A claim that cannot give everything gives nothing and says why: a currency reward that would pass the server's maximum balance, or a role FlaviBot cannot give. An item or category removed from the shop since, or a role deleted from the server, is skipped, and the member is told.

Claiming

A member who completes a quest gets a short line after the action that completed it, naming the quest. Prefix commands show no line: the next slash command or the Quests view shows it.

In the Quests view, each completed quest has a Claim button, and Claim all claims up to five at once. The economy menu's Quests button shows how many rewards wait.

Rewards stay claimable for 90 days, even after the quest ended, was disabled or was deleted: a reward carries the name and rewards the quest had when the member completed it.

Enabled and disabled quests both count. See Limits by tier.

Resetting the economy

Resetting the server's economy deletes every member's quest progress, the rewards they have not claimed and their personal discounts. Your quests stay.

Good to know

  • A Pay members quest with a large reward invites two members to pay each other back and forth. The transfer tax and the daily transfer cap you set in the Settings tab apply to those payments: set the goal and the reward with that in mind.
  • The Quests tab shows, for each quest, how many members completed it and how many claimed it over the last 7 days.
