Suggestions

Suggestions give ideas one place to land and a visible outcome. A member submits one with /suggestion create, picking the panel from an autocomplete list; FlaviBot posts it in that panel's channel, and members vote with thumbs up and down reactions or with buttons that count one vote each. Staff with Manage Messages set the status to pending, approved, rejected or implemented, and the original message is rewritten in place with the reason. Length bounds, a cooldown and automatic threads keep the channel readable. The number of panels grows with the server's plan.

Submitted with a command

/suggestion create posts the idea in the channel you chose. The panel name autocompletes, so members pick from your list instead of guessing it.

Reactions or buttons

Reaction voting adds a thumbs up and a thumbs down. Button voting counts the votes itself, enforces one vote per member and updates the totals immediately.

A visible outcome

Staff mark a suggestion pending, approved, rejected or implemented, and the original message is rewritten in place with the new status and your reason.

Length bounds and cooldowns

Set a minimum and a maximum length, and a cooldown of up to 24 hours between two submissions from the same member to the same panel.

Questions about Suggestions

Who can approve or reject a suggestion?

Members with Manage Messages, using /suggestion status with the suggestion's message ID. /suggestion refresh re-renders a message from what FlaviBot has stored.

Reactions or buttons: what is the difference?

Reactions add a thumbs up and a thumbs down that anyone can see. Buttons keep the count themselves, allow one vote per member, and stop accepting votes once the suggestion is no longer pending.

Can I stop members from flooding the channel?

Yes. Set a minimum and a maximum length and a cooldown of up to 24 hours between two submissions to the same panel. A member on cooldown is told when they can submit again.
